Musee Platinum Tokyo: Permanent Hair Reduction (1st Session)

Treatment:
Before the first treatment on 4 L-parts (lower and upper arms, lower and upper legs) and underarm, I had a short consultation with them at Scotts Square. The consultant, Lin Lin, is a friendly person. She patiently explained the price packages that I'm interested on. Furthermore, there is NO pushy sales, guaranteed. I heard it's because they are not commission driven which is good and also bad in some ways.

The consultation and treatment are split into 2 different days as they don't do it together (I don't know why but they just do it that way). Hence, for the first treatment, my experience was described in one word: COLD. You have to shave 2 days before the treatment day but on the day itself, they also do a brief shaving for you to ensure that the hairs are short.

First, they used sanitized wipes to wipe your skin clean and shave afterwards.
Then, they apply the super cold gel which has whitening and moisturizing effects to protect your skin while doing the IPL. I got really cold and shivered during the treatment. It caught me really cold and has no feeling towards the IPL at all.
As they did IPL on my legs, they proceed on to my arms and covered the treated parts with COLD towels (shivers).
Overall, the treatment was really cold and quick. Although the environment and service may not be perfect, I trust their technology and skills. The treatment rooms were really as described by some bloggers where there are only curtains in between rooms but the therapists will cover the clients' eyes during treatments. So I believe, only the therapists see it and NO MALES are allowed to step into the place, rest assured.

As for the results, it's only 1 day after the treatment. Hence, I have not seen any hair dropping off like what other people said yet. Will update soon (preferably with photos)!

Costs:
The total cost for 30 L-parts treatments for me was $1958.90 (around 35% off) to which, 1 L-part costs about $65.30. Currently, they are having promotion of 20%++ up to 44% off usual price (updated on 28Jan'14)!

There is an on-going unlimited underarms IPL priced at $48 NOW (updated on 7Nov'13)! (old price: $138) So much cheaper!! and there will be a free gift too (mine was a face massager from Japan). If you sign their packages after which, they will deduct $48 from your package as they entitle you free underarms IPL!

Payments:
The best thing about having my packages in Musee because of their flexibility.

On top of that, they provide 6 months installment payments for customers too. Hence forth, you only pay them once every 2 months. Meaning, you pay within a year which provides flexible payments for customers.

Furthermore, they provide refunds for unsatisfied or satisfied (completed treatment) customers. Satisfied customers are like people who signed 30 L-parts package but only used 12 sessions to fully minimize the hair growth on e.g. lower legs, they can get the refund of the rest of the unused package.

Good right? They also promise that if during certain discount periods if the price you buy the package was higher, they will change yours to the lower priced one (lower unit price = more sessions / refunds!).

They practically do any where on your body. If you have 'hair' troubles, do look for Musee :)

Pros:
- Reasonable price as compared to other salons.
- Need not be afraid of hidden costs as compared to deal packages (e.g. brazilian IPL deals which only do bikini line)
- No pushy sales
- Friendly consultation

Cons:
- Slower results

P.S. Itch will occur in initially stages after shaving. Bear with it for a few days. It will be gone and everything's good. Remember to apply light-weight body lotion to moisturise your skin constantly (it will help to minimise itch).
